Hickory Creek, TX is located west of Interstate 35E — 8 miles southeast of Denton, TX; in southeastern Denton County, TX.
North Boundary: Begins at the shoreline of Lewisville Lake (.25 mile west of) Maynard Road. East to Sycamore Bend Rd., north to Tuberville Road, east 300 feet, north 500 feet, east .5 mile, north to Teasley Drive. East 1 mile on Teasley Dr., south 1 mile, east .5 mile, south .5 mile to (just west of) Oakwood Lane. Slightly northeast 3 miles to (just east of) Forestview Road, slighly northwest 2 miles to Teasley Drive, east to 35-E (at Teasley Drive) — which is the northeast corner of the City.
East Boundary: Southeast along (east side of) 35-E, east .25 mile to Carlisle Drive, south to (just north of) Indian Trail, south & east to Main Street. Following Main Street to N. Hook Street .5 mile north, east to (just west of) Oak Lane, north & east to the shoreline. Following the shoreline of Lewisville Lake to (1 mile east of) Westlake Park (a road), directly south to shoreline — which is the southeast corner of the City.
South Boundary: Following the shoreline of Lewisville Lake to (directly south of) Sycamore Bend Road, and aligning to the west boundary.
West Boundary: Following the shoreline of Lewisville Lake to (the beginning of) the north boundary near Maynard Road.
History Of Hickory Creek TX
Having been developed in the 1960s, Hickory Creek does not have a rich history like most of north Texas’ cities and towns. Named for the nearby creek, the community incorporated by 1969.Hickory Creek has a mayor/council form of government and its own police department. The community supports a number of retail businesses and chains. In 1970 the population was 218, and increased to 1,422 in 1980. In 2000 the population was 2,078. In 2010, Hickory Creek’s population was 3,268.
